Using your MyIntent Maker Kit
Crowdfunding and online fundraising have become increasingly popular. We’ve outlined a step by step guide to set up your own GoFundMe campaign for your next fundraiser!
When setting up a GoFundMe, they will ask you to:
- Set up an account
- Enter your goal ($) amount
- Who you are fundraising for
Be sure to choose "Myself or someone else" if you plan to withdraw the money to cover your supply cost before you donate.
- Upload a photo and a description
Here is a sample description for you to use with links to additional photos and videos.
- Customize your campaign link so it's easy to share! Click "Looks Good" and your GoFundMe Page is live!
There are 2 main points you will need to decide:
1. Whether the donors choose Their WORD or if you will gift each donor with a specific WORD.
2. Whether you are willing to mail the bracelets or if it will be local pick-up only.
The structure of this fundraiser is ultimately up to you, but we recommend keeping it as simple as possible. Continuously come back to why you are participating in this fundraiser and the conversations you are cultivating!
GoFundMe no longer has platform fees, but there is a processing fee for people donating through WePay and PayPal (2.9% + $0.30).
Sourced from Makers: The average price to ship one bracelet is $3.50. This includes the mailer and shipping cost.
We recommend sending these bracelets in a bubble mailer with a tracking number. It provides accountability through every step of the process.
Amazon sells small (3x5) bubble mailers! 50 mailers for ~$8.00 (~$0.16/mailer). Plus, there is an assortment of colors to choose from!
If you are selling multiple products, such as the question cards, keychains, bracelets, necklaces, or any combination of products, you can start with a single item and create “deluxe” packages for larger donations.
An example of creating your own donor levels:
- $10+ = 1 pack of Question Cards
- $15+ = 1 STRENGTH Bracelet
- $20+ = 1 Custom Bracelet
- $25+ = 1 pack of Question Cards & 1 Custom Bracelet
As a reference point, the price for a Classic Bracelet from MyIntent is $20. You can also set your prices in line with this or adjust your pricing as it fits with your audience.
Yes, since there is a form of money being exchanged, we do require Makers be Certified for quality assurance. It’s free and only takes a few minutes.
