Chrissy Metz

TRUST

Actor, This is Us

"I am choosing TRUST to remind myself to trust myself!"

Beyoncé

SURRENDER

She took a minute to think and said “HOPE,” after a moment she changed her word to SURRENDER.

Beyoncé speaks openly on how she surrenders in an MTV Documentary:

"I’m learning how to drown out the constant noise that is such an inseparable part of my life. I don’t have to prove anything to anyone, I only have to follow my heart and concentrate on what I want to say to the world."

Cody Simpson

PEACE

Cody chose the word PEACE. Cody loved the meaning behind the bracelet and put it on right there at the event. After spontaneously being pulled up on stage to speak next to the Dalai Lama, Cody took to his Instagram to say:

"A spiritual journey has no destination. Thank you @DalaiLama for leading a generation and being an instrumental carver of the road for world peace, #withcompassion."

Jaden Smith

CONSCIOUSNESS

Jaden chose CONSCIOUSNESS saying:

"I am into quantum physics and mathematics - that's why I felt the need for CONSCIOUSNESS. When you apply consciousness to something, that's how you heal something, that's how you fix something, you cure that issue - just by conscious intent. Consciousness is all that we have and it's the only thing that doesn't die."
Jaden’s sister Willow also chose CONSCIOUSNESS as her word.

Jay-Z

EDUCATE

Jay-Z is a firm believer in the power of education:

"I’m hungry for knowledge. The whole thing is to learn every day, to get brighter and brighter. That’s what this world is about. With Education comes refinement."

Jay-Z is one of the most famous hip hop artists in the world, yet he uses his successes to bring change and positivity into the world. He is the creator of the Shawn Carter Foundation, a charity that benefits the underprivileged youths of America.

Justin Bieber

PURPOSE

Just before the release of his #1 album, Justin Bieber struggled through a turbulent time in his life. Justin spoke candidly with fans at an album release event saying,

"I just felt like I lost my place for a while. I lost my purpose, and I wanted to just be a light and let people know that whether you don't feel like you have a purpose, whether you're just trying to figure it out, there's a light at the end of the tunnel."

Kanye West

BEAUTIFY

Kanye said that his word is BEAUTIFY - to make the world more beautiful. Every now and then we all need a reminder to take a step back and think about our intentions in life, just as Kanye did.

Kanye later wore the bracelet when he was featured on the cover of TIME Magazine.

Katie Couric

FAITH

Katie Couric, Co-Founder of Stand Up To Cancer, with her MyIntent necklace with #SU2C on one token and #FAITH on the other because

"there's never been a time when we've needed it more." ---
Every minute, one person in the United States dies of cancer.
When the disease strikes, it becomes a race against the clock.

Kim Kardashian West

NORTH

Being a mother is one of the most important jobs in the world. Many moms have to juggle so many priorities, it can often be a struggle to find balance. As one of the busiest and most recognizable TV stars in the world, Kim Kardashian had to quickly learn how to balance her busy career with being a new mom. She spoke about the challenge with a parenting blog saying:

“I took a hiatus after I had the baby, and found it challenging to start working again because I didn’t want to spend any time away, but you adjust and prioritize, and just figure it out.”

When MyIntent founder Chris Pan met Kim’s manager, he explained the meaning behind our bracelets and was inspired to send a few to Kim. She chose a bracelet with the word “North,” an indication that motherhood is the most important thing in her life, in the midst of all the chaos.

“I love being a mom! It’s the most rewarding feeling! I really love every phase. Just the way my daughter laughs with me, all of the small things in life you appreciate.”

Larry King

WHY

As one of the most successful television hosts of our time, Larry King has learned a lot about the art of communication, he shares his thoughts, saying:

I remind myself every morning: Nothing I say this day will teach me anything. So if I'm going to learn, I must do it by listening.

Through a mutual friend, MyIntent’s cofounder Chris Pan was given the opportunity to meet Larry King and have breakfast with him. After discussing the meaning behind the MyIntent project, Chris asked Larry what his word is; he originally chose curiosity then settled on “why.” Chris made him the bracelet and asked him why he changed his mind about his word, Larry said:

Why? Why? Why? If you are a curious person it always comes down to why. And it's the best question for an interviewer because it can't be answered in one word.

Scooter Braun

JAGGER'S DAD

This bracelet here is my goal. It's a MyIntent bracelet that says JAGGER'S DAD. My other son is Levi so I'm getting a second bracelet. And I'm actually looking forward to the achievement of the first time I go somewhere and no one calls me Scooter.

Michael Bolton

COMPASSION

Chelsea Handler

KINDNESS & BREATHE

KINDNESS and BREATHE as reminders while sharing on @theEllenShow, @JimmyFallon, and more for her new book and comedy tour.
.
In her new book LIFE WILL BE THE DEATH OF ME, she shares how working with her therapist has helped her become aware of her blindspots and come to powerful self-realizations. It's an insightful, vulnerable, and hilarious ride on her quest to #heal and #grow. Her self-discovery inspires us to reach deeper within ourselves and figure out what matters most.
.
On her Sit-Down Comedy Tour across the US, she is gifting "I DECIDE" #MyIntent bracelets to friends, and fundraising with them for @TrueColorsUnited - reminding her community that they are in charge of their lives.
.
"I know to wait. I know to listen more than talk. I know silence isn't deadly - it's strong. I know that I lack empathy, and I need to look out for it. Vulnerability is not weakness. Vulnerability is strength."
.
"I didn't know that my brother's death was defining me." Chelsea’s brother died when she was nine, and when he didn’t return, she took it as rejection and a lesson that others should not be trusted or relied on.
.
Through therapy, she has realized, "I define me, No event or person does this. I DECIDE who I am and how I'm going to behave, and I choose to be better. To think about other people's pasts and not judge someone for doing or handling something differently than I would... I wouldn't be able to help anyone in a real, meaningful way until I was able to sit with myself."

Katy Perry

AUTHENTIC

she wants herself and everyone around her to be "unapologetically authentic!"

Justin Baldoni

James Corden

NOW

now is all we have

Gerard Butler

POWER, PEACE, & PURPOSE

mantra for Kids Kick Cancer that he supports. They use martial arts to help kids fighting cancer.

Conan O'Brien

DEATH BED

"not to be morbid but is this going to matter when I am on my death bed? I get caught up in little things that don't really matter and this is a reminder to focus on the things that really do matter."

Jenna Ushkowitz

STRONGWILL

I chose "Strongwill," not only because it's the meaning of my Korean name, but it also stays true to my intent in life. In always keeping true to my beliefs and going after what I want. Execution is crucial. You can dream and wish but if you don't go after what you want, how do you expect to get it? I've been lucky enough to have always had a guttural calling in life, a reason to be here. Strongwill reminds me to always stand my ground and follow that inner voice. I encourage you to find that and to remind yourself everyday of what it is you want. It can be anything that keeps you going each day or something you're working on:)

Torrey Devitto

WITHIN

"Last year my word was TRUTH and this year my word is WITHIN. Because everything I need is already WITHIN me. A simple concept that took a lot of life lessons and 30 years to finally grasp. Everything I was looking for was right in front of me, within me."
