MOTHER

Our hearts are touched as we read through your stories about Mom. Here are just a few we would like to share with you:

COURAGE - Three years ago, my mom stepped out and risked her life to save the life of my friend. Everyone lived, and my mom ended up getting a medal from the Queen because of it, but since then she's really struggled with anxiety and depression, to the point of needing a service dog. My mom is a fighter and has redefined the word courage for me. I'd love to be able to remind her of what courage can do.

LOVE - My mom so many things to say. She was born deaf cannot hear speak, read or write. But this woman is everything to me - my inspiration, hero all in one. God's blessing to me and my only brother. She is the smartest loving woman has taught me everything in life. And has gave up so much and has lost so much. If there were medals for mothers she would definitely get one. We always had our way of communicating. She raised me and my children. Love would be my mom. I love her so much.

UNBROKEN - Hand her pieces of your life and she'll put them together one at a time, held together with love, care, support and grace to make something wonderful for you. She is a hero, a role model and a mother to anyone who needs her.

SACRIFICE - Because she has made the greatest sacrifices to raise me and I will always be forever grateful.

ACCEPTANCE - My parents adopted me when I was 2 weeks old and my mom and I have the most amazing relationship. She has always been there for me and been my biggest cheerleader. She's the first person I call when I need to talk about anything and my shoulder to cry on. When my own child was born and we learned he had Down syndrome, she cried with me, but has always encouraged me as his mother. I think that's what I adore about her---she believes in me!

LIFE - She went to Rest in Paradise, and she gave her all to whoever she met. She never met a stranger. The lives she touched while she was here on earth was many, and she will be missed by all who knew her. My mother gave birth to six children, raised five of her friends children, was a surrogate to her sister's daughter and her three boys, and another mother to the children of the neighborhood.

FLABBERGAST - I know it might be a funny word but my mom always is so astonishing! She impresses me every day. The amazing and touching words she says warm my heart and heal any pain I have. She is there whenever I need her and I am more than grateful for the relationship we have. She is a blessing. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have my mom

LIONESS - Because she is royal. She is beautiful, strong & intelligent. She has been fierce in her protection of her daughters & a provider for her family. At all times quiet, with wisdom & when necessary, she roars with the mightiest voice full of passion. I love the example that this woman continues to be for me & countless other women.
